The system of record for the tracking the location and movement of millions of immigrant and receipt files. Users depend on the system for timely, accurate and complete file location information and delivery.

Problem

How to keep track of and manage the lifecycle of physical, digital and electronic files, while maintaining security and speed to improve efficiency while taking into consideration how end users intend of using the system.

Solution

Created a set of microservices to handle various aspects of the document management system. Our team maintains and enhances these microservices, while providing value high availability service to our users.

Result

Provided an autoscalable and fault tolerant system to provide real time value to all customers with no downtime.

Customer Profile Aggregation

Digitizing the tedious benefit application process for a more efficient and convenient experience.

Consolidates the customer profile, thereby making it easier to process multiple applications from the same customer (for different services). This helps our clients increase their efficiency.

Handles the creation and maintenance of an updated profile for each applicant who applies for benefits and each representative that created an account via the e-Processing service. The microservices function as an information broker between DHS Online Properties and various Services, allowing systems to retrieve receipt-based applicant profiles and request updates to an applicants profile.

Problem

The cloud computing practices that were in place on this project were insufficient for the desired use. They were dependent upon slow cycle times, and not set up for the local development needed to drive positive change.

Solution

Planed and constructed a local DevOps development environment, that was aligned on best practices for the cloud infrastructure being utilized.

Result

The team is all on the same page moving forward about how to approach cloud infrastructure related tasks and problems.

Embracing Person Centricity

Streamlining immigration services through identity data accessibility.

Providing adjudicators the data when they need it.

Provide the ability to search and update the Person-centric Identity System to an extremely large set of simultaneous users. Our team of engineers help accelerate our nations immigration proces through the creation of a data streaming pipeline responsible for automatically curating immigration data to enable rapid discovery this is searchable by end users.

Problem

As a person apply for a benefit interacts with various systems within our nations immigration process they create a series of records that are not connected and likely evolve over time. This creates a challenge when trying to create a single picture of a person which can then create an impedement when applying for immigration benefits.

Solution

Controlling for two modes of operation (batched and stream), our team created a streaming pipeline that leveraged identity resolution and record linkage techniques to create a unified view of a person immigration journey resulting in complete transaction records. The benefits of this approach also enables the ability to resolve and unify a person journey in realtime as they interact with the system.

Result

Real time entity resolution and linkage process with the ability to provide a unified view of a person as well as a complete history.
